Officer Darrin Young

I am a 33-year veteran of law enforcement. I am married to my wife Carol, and we have two kids, Darrin Jr and Cierra.

I started my career in law enforcement in 1989 with the St. Louis City Police Department. After 24 years of dedicated service, I retired in April of 2012. During those 24 years of service, ten were spent volunteering with the St. Louis City's PAL program.

After a two-month vacation, in June of 2012, I joined the St. Louis County Police Department, where I was assigned to the North County Precinct. After one year of service, I became a School Resource Officer at Hazelwood Central High school.

In 2015, the St. Louis County Police Department formed its Police Athletic League Unit. I was very fortunate to be selected to be a part of the unit and have been with the team since its inception.
